It was on September 10, 2000, God sent a prophetess by the name of Pastor Salina Covington, of Youngstown, Ohio, to inform Pastor Ron of His plans of making major changes in his view toward ministry, that would directly and indirectly impact the City of Syracuse and surrounding areas. On October 20, 2000, Pastors Ron and Cindy were directed by the Holy Ghost to attend their first Pastors' And Leadership Conference, hosted by Bishop TD Jakes. It was in that meeting that Pastor Ron was filled with the Holy Ghost through the laying on of hands by Bishop TD Jakes. This spiritual impartation marked the beginning of a whole new level of ministry, and a widely publicized onslaught of religious and denominational persecution for over two years. Under the unction of the Holy Spirit, New Life Temple of Praise was formally launched on August 18, 2002, as New Life Community Church of Syracuse, Inc., at First Christian Assembly Church, 705 Hamilton Avenue, Syracuse, New York. On May 4, 2004, the Lord came to Pastor Ron in a dream and told him to change the name to New Life Temple of Praise, because the former name limited the scope of people He wants the church to reach." Pastor Ron received his Bachelor's degree in Mass-Media Communications from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio, in 1981. In 1988, he completed his Master's of Arts degree of Religous Studies at Ashland Theological Seminary, Ashland, Ohio; and also completed post-graduate study courses in the Doctorate of Ministry Black Church Studies Program. Pastor Ron is currently a doctoral candidate at Colgate Rochester Divinty School, Rochester, New York, and in May 2006 received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian College and Theological Seminary, Jacksonville, Florida. Pastor Ron, known for his civic leadership, has built churches, served on numerous corporate boards, community agencies, city and county commissions, foundations, and has raised over a quarter of a million dollars ($250,000) to oversee and conserve valuable underground railroad faces sculpted by runaway slaves during the abolition period found in an abandoned church and donated them to the Onondaga Historical Association in Syracuse, New York. Pastor Ron is a loving husband and father, pastor, preacher, teacher, evangelist, events organizer, strategist and confidant particularly to men and women aspiring to ministry. His studies and ministry have taken him throughout the United States, Israel, Egypt, Jordan, and the Bahamas.
She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio, earned an Associate Degree from the University of Akron, Akron, Ohio and a Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia College in Upstate New York, both in Business Administration. Pastor Cindy has been married to Pastor Ron and has been involved in pastoral ministry for over twenty-five years in Ohio and Upstate New York. Her passion and commitment of priorities for life rest in three areas of her life--to worship God, for her children to call her blessed, and to serve with her husband in sharing the love and the Kingdom of God throughout the earth.
